How does an on-line course work? Well, it depends on the course. Often universities provide a web portal to run their on-line courses. Typically a secure login is enabled for each student allowing access to - course material; an interactive discussion forum; a facility to upload and submit assignments; and access to the university research facilities and library.
Previously I have done post-graduate study (part-time) via two methods – (i) on campus study, and (ii) on-line study. How do they compare?
It may seem harmless enough but this insidious piece of technology has
cost the planet millions of hours in lost productivity. It has almost
certainly eaten valuable chunks of your day. It is Outlook's
"New Mail Desktop Alert". How much harm can a dinging sound and a
popup cause?
Why do parents try to ‘do it all’? I have never understood parents who do all the work around the house while the kids do close to nothing. Two problems with this – (i) the kids are being taught to be lazy, self-centered, and increases their dependency; and (ii) the already time-starved parents end up doing all the work. When you invest time teaching kids to share the load at home, you will save a lot of time.

Since the Dad (me) didn't get much of a mention in the <a href="http://www.cravetime.com/save-time/household/time-management-newborn-twi... article about time management with twins, I've decided to respond myself [smile].

This is a great Time Management presentation from someone who understands how short time is.
Randy Pausch, professor at Carnegie Mellon University, gave this presentation after he was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer. The talk is funny, entertaining but hits home on the importance of finding time to do what matters.
